Name: Ib (The game never gives her a last name) Canon: Ib Canon point: Post game, Promise of Reunion ending Age: 9
Summary: Ib is a gentle, polite, and sheltered little girl from an upper class family. Her life was largely unremarkable until the day her parents took her to an art gallery to see an exhibition of the works of an eccentric artist, the late Weiss Guertena. Even though she's only nine, her parents have no problem allowing her to explore an art gallery unsupervised. She's a curious child though, and talks to many of the other visitors to the gallery, asking questions about various paintings. Which is fine until all the lights go out, all the people disappear, and Ib is exploring a spooky art gallery full of traps and puzzles and living paintings that try to kill her.
Considering her young age, it's remarkable how far she gets on her own. Proving to be brave and quite clever she solves a number of puzzles as the descends deeper into the dark art gallery. Upon meeting and rescuing Garry though she is very obviously relieved to no longer be alone, and is similarly glad when Mary joins them. She's also very kind hearted. Even after Mary's secret is revealed, even after she threatens Ib with a palette knife, Ib still worries about her and Garry has to convince her to leave Mary behind.
There are a few things that do break through her courage though. She is visibly disturbed when they find a portrait of her parents in the dark gallery, and passes out after narrowly escaping from an assault by multiple enemies at once. But with some encouragement from Garry, she pulls herself together and they keep going. She's also extremely upset if anything bad happens to Garry(like failing the doll room) and, while she doesn't want to hurt Mary, she will burn her painting if backed into a corner.
Powers/abilities: Ib is a normal human girl.
That said, she's pretty strong willed for her age and has good reflexes. Honestly she never would've made it through the gallery otherwise. She's also very clever when it comes to puzzle solving but somewhat lacking in terms of reading comprehension and vocabulary. There's a lot of words she doesn't know. She's sheltered and thus a little naive, but is surprisingly level headed. When Garry gets fed up with being harassed by art exhibits she is quick to stop him from kicking or breaking them.
So... no powers or anything but she's a good girl who does her best. That's gotta count for something, right?
Inventory: A piece of lemon candy. (She's so well prepared)
OTHER
Sentimental item: Garry's lighter Yes it's a fire hazard and something kids should not be playing with. But she's keeping it anyway. Garry is very important to her since he provided the emotional support she needed to make it out of the gallery. They formed the kind of fast bond that can only result from facing mortal peril together and she views Garry as the older brother she never had. Gemstone: Red, Pink (A small red gem shaped like a rose, the very edge of the petals are a soft pink)
Lost memory #1: Witnessing Mary stabbing a mannequin head while muttering to herself. This is the first indication that Ib has that not all is right with her new friend. Without having witnessed that, Mary's sudden decision to attack her and Garry's declaration that Mary is a painting seemed to come out of nowhere.
Lost memory #2: Getting past the Lady in Blue to retrieve Garry's rose. She just remembers finding him lying there and then fetching his rose from what was probably a completely safe room? Must have been if she doesn't remember it, right?
Altered memory: Burning Mary's painting. Instead she remembers escaping after Mary catches them in her room and fleeing through the gallery with Mary in pursuit. This will leave her convinced they only just barely escaped from Mary and she's still out there somewhere.
